
Andhra Pradesh, located in the southern peninsula of India, is bordered by Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and the Bay of Bengal. Following the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act of 2014, the state was bifurcated to form Telangana, with Andhra Pradesh retaining 26 districts and a geographical area of 1,62,970 sq. km., making it the 8th largest state in India. The economy of Andhra Pradesh is steadily growing. The state’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) at current prices for 2023-24 is estimated at Rs. 14.39 lakh crore (US$ 173.87 billion), growing at a CAGR of 11.5% from 2015-16 to 2023-24. Andhra Pradesh was the first Indian state to introduce the Industrial Single Window Clearance Act, simplifying business approvals. The government is also focusing on sectors like solar power, electronic hardware, and food processing. In 2019-20 alone, 44 large-scale projects and over 10,000 MSMEs were set up, generating significant employment.
Exports from the state have shown strong performance. In FY24, merchandise exports reached US$ 19.76 billion, with engineering goods contributing nearly 25%. From April–August 2024, exports stood at US$ 8.82 billion, underlining the state's rising global trade presence.






















Tamil Nadu, located on the southern coast of India, is the fourth-largest state by size and an industrial powerhouse. Surrounded by Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Kerala, and bordered by the Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal, the state plays a key role in India’s manufacturing and export sectors. With a diversified economy, Tamil Nadu is a leader in industries such as automobiles, pharmaceuticals, garments, textiles, engineering, and leather products. It ranks first in India for the number of factories and industrial workers.
Tamil Nadu’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) is estimated at Rs. 31.55 trillion (US$ 372.42 billion) in 2024-25, growing at a CAGR of 11.63%. The tertiary sector contributed 54.33% of the state’s Gross State Value Added (GSVA), followed by the secondary sector at 32.72%.
The state attracted US$ 43.17 billion in FDI from 2000 to June 2024, with major investments from DP World and various industrial projects in solar energy, electronics, auto components, and food processing. Tamil Nadu’s infrastructure includes three major ports, 15 minor ports, eight airports, and a robust power generation capacity of 40.73 GW.

In 2024–25, Kerala’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) is estimated at Rs. 13.11 lakh crore (US$ 157.3 billion), marking an 11.77% rise over the previous year. From 2015–16 to 2024–25E, the state recorded a GSDP CAGR of 8.84%. Kerala is a major producer of rubber and pepper, while the fisheries and IT sectors also play vital roles. Kochi, in particular, has emerged as a technology hub, supported by international submarine cable connectivity. In 2022–23, the per capita GSDP was Rs. 295,787 (US$ 3,763).
Kerala’s exports are on the rise, with total exports reaching US$ 1.87 billion between April and August 2024. Marine products led the way in FY24, contributing US$ 814.11 million, driven by global demand and supportive industrial policies.
